Plogging is a combination of Jogging and Plockka up, a swedish word for 'Picking Up'. That is, Plogging is an action of picking up waste while jogging. Plogging started in Sweden in around 2016, and spread to other countries, especially with concerns to plastic pollution.
According to the Nature Geoscience, Korea is the country with most plastic-polluted oceans in the world. 138,000 tons of waste were collected in Korean oceans, of which 83% of them were plastics.
So, I wanted to use these datas interactively with motion detection and Machine Learning that were covered in class to create a game of Plogging, and raise awareness about oceaninc waste.
Public Data
Data about wastes at Korean beaches and oceans, the weather of the beaches, the water quality, and air qualiry of the ocean are used to parametrize several configurations on the game, which are explained in the PDF Format.
PhyOSC helped attain gyro and accelration values from Apple Watch (wearable devices). I sent these datas to Wekinator Machine Learning model to see if the uesr is walking or running, and recognize several gestures that are used in the game.
